Return and Refund Policy
1. Consumer Rights Statement
Customers are entitled to products of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and matching descriptions/specifications (Terms Sections 5, 9, Privacy Policy Sections 1-2). Remedies: repair, replacement, refund, or store credit.
2. Eligible Refund and Return Cases
- Product unavailable after payment
- Internal processing/fulfillment failure
- Order cancellation before dispatch
- Duplicate or erroneous payment
- Defective, damaged, or incorrect product
- Claims must be reported promptly with evidence (Terms Sections 5, 9, Privacy Policy Sections 1-2).
3. Inspection and Assessment Process
Inspection 2-5 business days at Makumbi Phone Stores premises. Assesses physical condition, functionality, signs of misuse, serial number verification. Only approved claims eligible for remedies.
4. Refund Method, Deductions, and Timelines
Refunds processed 2-7 business days. Service/transaction fees 10%-13%. Methods: Wallet (Terms Section 7, Privacy Policy Sections 1-2) or original payment. Delays caused by banks/payment providers not Makumbi Phone Stores' responsibility.
5. Situations Where Refunds Are Not Permitted
- Product matches description and works
- Change of mind
- Incorrect delivery info
- Delays beyond Makumbi Phone Stores' control
- Opened/used/altered/unauthorized repair
- Products sourced abroad during delivery period (Terms Section 8)
6. Non-Returnable Products
- Opened accessories/personal-use items
- Damaged through misuse, negligence, liquid exposure, power surges
- Missing packaging, manuals, accessories
- Altered software or tampering
- Products purchased where customer failed to read/understand product description/specifications (Terms Section 5, Privacy Policy Sections 1-2)
- Promotional/discounted/clearance items unless specified
7. Wallet and Store Credit Remedies
Refunds may be issued as store credit or Wallet balance. Withdrawals follow Wallet Policy (Terms Section 7).
8. Customer Responsibilities
- Review product details before purchase (Terms Section 5)
- Provide accurate info
- Inspect products immediately
- Report defects promptly (Privacy Policy Sections 1-2)
9. Fraud Prevention and Abuse of Rights
Makumbi Phone Stores may decline fraudulent/abusive claims, suspend/terminate accounts, or take legal action (Terms Sections 11 and 14).
10. Policy Updates and Legal Compliance
Updates effective immediately (Terms Section 1, Privacy Policy Section 7).
11. Governing Law Statement
The Return and Refund Policy is governed by the Terms of Service and by the laws in enforce in Uganda (Terms Section 18).
